Hey what’s up!

Meet Aliah

Aliah is the founder of Naked 4 Nature. She recently graduated from Tulane University with a B.S. in Psychology and with minors in Marine Biology & Spanish. She is on her way back to Australia to get her Master of Marine Biology from James Cook University located on the Great Barrier Reef.

Some fun facts about Aliah:

  • She is a PADI-certified Divemaster and Assistant Instructor and has been a certified diver since she was 11

  • She is a Ted X Talk speaker and published author & illustrator of her own book on dyslexia

  • She attended a semester abroad at the University of Sydney located in Sydney Australia and received her Advanced OW certification on the Great Barrier Reef

  • She worked as an intern for the Coral Restoration Foundation in the Florida Keys as well as participated in a lionfish removal project in Placencia, Belize

  • In her free time, she likes to skate, surf, freedive, and kickbox. All underwater photography and graphic designs are by her!

Meet Reed

Michael Reed Basangan (Reed for short) is one of our Content Creators and Topic Researchers. He is currently serving in the United States Coast Guard as a Machinery Technician in Miami Beach. With a strong background in film photography and now building a portfolio in digital photography, Reed has an incredible skillset enabling him to capture and document critical environmental issues bringing them to the attention of the public eye.

Some fun facts about Reed:

  • He has lived in Hawaii, SoCal, Virginia, and now Florida

  • He was a successful competitive surfer and surf instructor back in Cali competing in longboard, short board and big wave contests

  • When he’s not snapping photos, Reed plays competitive beach volleyball, skateboards, and freedives

  • He is a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver looking to pursue hid Divemaster in the near future

Meet Davis

Davis wears many hats but is primarily our business strategist. He studied Economics at Middlebury College, and focused heavily on the connections between the environment and the world economy.  He has done research on everything from the worldwide impacts of Electric Vehicles to the potential costs and benefits of geothermal heating in Vermont.  

Some fun facts about Davis:

  • He loves spending time in the water, doing things ranging from whitewater kayaking, to windsurfing and even snorkeling. 

  • He wants to ensure that future generations are offered the same opportunities for amazing experiences in these beautiful natural environments that he himself was offered. 

  • He hopes to make some bubbles and begin diving in the near future.

  • On top of speaking English, Davis speaks Russian, Latin, and Spanish!
